About MDS

MDS works with owners and developers to assure both quality and affordability on their projects by being involved in the design from the very beginning of the process.  Construction decisions are being made throughout the design process to insure that the design of the building will not exceed the budget.  MDS has an in-house AutoCAD staff that provide detailed shop drawings so that construction problems are discovered and corrected prior to installation, and not in the field where conflicts can be costly.  On larger projects, coordinated multi-trade shop drawings are used to work out conflicts before they become a problem during construction.

MDS further controls job costs by performing virtually all of the installation of the project in-house.  Installation of the ductwork and equipment on our projects is performed solely by MDS employees.  We have certified welders on staff that perform the installation of all of the mechanical piping. All control work (with the exception of proprietary energy management systems) is performed by MDS employees. MDS is a Trane Applied Systems Contractor and specializes in the design and installation of the Trane’s Tracer Summit DDC Control System.  We are experienced in the design and installation of other manufacturer’s control systems as well, including Carrier, York, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Lennox, and many others.  We also have the expertise in-house to perform building commissioning, sound and vibration measurement, and air and hydronic balancing.  By controlling all facets of the job in house, it simplifies the task of keeping our projects on schedule and on budget.  By eliminating the need to hire subcontractors for our work, we don’t have the coordination issues and gaps in the work scope faced by other mechanical contractors.
